Nurse Manager Naomi Chen’s nursing journey of 17 years started in Singapore, with the privilege of practising both abroad and locally. Her passion for aged care developed over the years, which led to her current role at St Luke’s ElderCare Residence @ Ang Mo Kio, encompassing leadership, administrative functions and care provision.
Naomi’s nursing vision is to ensure that nurses are competent in their clinical setting, through imparting of knowledge, particularly in wound and falls management. With her expanse of experience in community care, Naomi is regularly invited to contribute in various committees, taskforces and focus groups at a national level, where she continues to make an impact on the quality of nursing care.
A keen advocate of the person-directed care model, she believes that nurses should be given opportunities to think out of the box, so as to provide care that respects each elder as an individual.
She continues to pursue her Masters in Dementia in the UK.
In 2020, she was awarded the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards (Silver). She was also a recipient of the Nurses Merit Award 2020 conferred by the Ministry of Health.
