A HOME AWAY FROM HOME In SLR@AMK, we aim for our elders to have a “home away from home” experience. This centres around empowering our elders to make their own choices according to their interests and lifestyle. SLEC’s unique care approach goes above and beyond the basic nursing home concept.

Examples of our care approach at SLR@AMK: To empower our elders to make decisions on their own, every household consisting of 12-16 elders will have their own kitchen appliances to enable them to make their own tea-breaks and snacks.

To ease the transition from home, our elders are encouraged to wear their home clothes and washing machines are provided at every household for laundry.

To provide a personalised and comfortable space, all bedrooms have been furnished with customised wardrobes, pressure relief mattresses, and wooden framed nursing beds.

To enable familiarity, the dining experience will include local hawker food choices and elders can expect an enhanced presentation of blended food.
