Jan Garde has built himself a successful career in brands and marketing for many companies with more than 15 years of experience. For the past 5 years, he was the Head of Design Network for Deutsche Telekom, one of the largest telecommunication providers In the region. Prior to joining Telekom, he worked for agencies including Jung von Matt and BBDO. His professional list of clients has included but no limited to, BMW, Mercedes Benz, DFB, MTV, Quiksilver, RedBull and Allianz. Mr Garde also speaks 5 languages – German, English, Dutch, French and Spanish, allowing him to build an extensive working experience globally. His work has won him numerous international awards, including the ADC Awards, Cannes, Clio, DDC, DMI Awards, German Brand Awards, German Innovation Awards, Good Design Award, GQ, IF and Red Dot Awards.
However, even as he progressed successfully in his career, he could never quite forget the memories of seeing his grandparents staying in senior living facilities – places that are over-hospitalized, stark and foreign. As he watched himself, his friends and his family grow older, this negative experience lingered in his mind. He began researching this sector, and after researching 100+ facilities, he had a ‘spark’ in his mind. In 2018, he founded The Embassies of Good Living, a global co-living/co-retiring concept that changes the way we perceive and experience later life, based in Zurich, Switzerland.
